App Developer Launches NurseWorks Magazine for iPad Users
First-ever nursing news magazine is app-delivered in Apple’s iTunes News Stand. The magazine provides nurses with stories, news and information they can use.
Successful app developer and now magazine publisher Kathy Johnson has released the first issue of her digital-only news magazine, NurseWorks Magazine, on the Apple News Stand for iPad users. Johnson, a nurse for more than 20 years, has a dozen best-selling nursing apps on Google Play. She expects her magazine to be available for the Android market within months.
Johnson partnered with award-winning managing editor and journalist, Barbara Haiss to produce the bi-monthly magazine. It contains investigative features, informative articles and the latest industry news as well as regular departments such as, Nurse Stories, Is it legal?, How-to’s, Corporate Survival Skills and Education.
“Nurses are hungry for a straight-talk news magazine that gives them the answers they need,” said Johnson. “Most nursing journals are heavy with medical how-to’s and don’t often address those complicated relationship issues that crop up between nurses and other healthcare professionals. Nurses also want to know more about the legal aspects of nursing and for someone to provide real answers to questions they’ve had. And they want advice on career choices, college programs, which conventions to go to and the latest news. NurseWorks Magazine will help provide these solutions.”
Some of the issue features include:
Why insourcing healthcare workers hurts everyone
Orlando reporter John Weis talked to Washington, D.C. pediatrician Dr. Kate Tulenko who advocates the United States stop importing foreign healthcare workers and explains why.
Help! My boss has permanent PMS!!!
Johnson asked both Palm Beach Gardens psychotherapist Karen Martin and Atlanta HR professional Brenetia Adams-Robinson to answer the same complicated work relationship question so as to give nurses a better chance to build their own strategy should they find themselves in this or a similar situation.
